A Visit To Our Expanded Web
Site Can Answer Many Questions
|
| Do you have a bit of free time for an interesting
trip? A visit to www.villageofpittsford.org is an easy way to keep
up with a variety of ever-changing information related to Pittsford
Village.
Our official Web site is now double its initial size. The site’s
architect is Mike Marowski, a recent high honors graduate of R.I.T.
and son of Village Treasurer Mary Marowski. Mike has made it easier
for visitors to navigate within the site and simpler for staff to
list current information.
A variety of colors, photographics, and type faces enliven the
pages.
Here’s what the site offers:
A history of Pittsford
Village
A self-guided Walking
Tour, with map
A list of Trustee
and Board members, with brief biographies
The annual budget
The Comprehensive
Plan, designed by Peter J. Smith of Buffalo with input received
from a citizens’ committee to meet future needs
Minutes of meetings
of the Trustees, the Planning and Zoning Board, and the Architectural
Preservation and Review Board
A business directory,
including the ability to search for a business by category or name
(including partial name)
Copies of past and

There’s nothing like “hands
on” involvement to build community ties. One good way
you - and your family - can help the Village (and meet neighbors)
is to join a group of volunteers taking part in a “Clean-Is-Beautiful”
work party on Sunday morning, June 22.
Volunteers will meet at 8:30 a.m.
in front of the Village Hall. After picking up refuse bags
and plastic gloves, the group will fan out to public areas
that could use some “sprucing up,” such as Port
of Pittsford Park and the Canal Trail.
At noon, the group will return to
the Village Hall for refreshments and conversation - and to
take satisfaction in a job well done.
Chairing the effort is Trustee Tom
Farlow, who was inspired by a neighbor’s wish to volunteer.
“By the end of June, most of our household Spring clean-up
work is over,” Farlow points out. “We hope residents
may have time and energy to join us in this volunteer effort.”
Any community group, such as a Scout
troop, can target a favorite location for their own clean-up
effort.
For more information, please
contact Tom Farlow at 746-7970 or at Tom.Farlow@pittsfordfd.org.
